20 Years of Modulars

Southern Alberta LEGO®  User Group (SALUG) was selected by LEGO®  Fan CoLab to build the LEGO Icons #10278 Police Station from the Modular Buildings Collection at 4X scale. This project celebrates 20 years of iconic LEGO® modular buildings and brings fan communities together. Our goal is to create a supersized version of the iconic Police Station approximately 1 cubic meter in size and with 500,000 LEGO® elements! 

Follow our journey as we work with 21 other communities around the globe to bring these supersized modular buildings to life. We are engaging our local community and groups, including our friends up north, the Northern Alberta LEGO® User Group (NALUG). 

Currently, we are in the design stage where most of the work is digital, though some prototyping involves physical bricks too. Assembly of the Police Station will begin in the new year, including hosted public build events where everyone can come and build a piece of the model.  Stay tuned to our social media for these opportunities, and if you want to get involved in this project, please email ambassador@salug.ca.
